Walk details for Thames / Molesey Walk Location: West Molesey – Sadlers Ride Walk Leader(s): Toni Jackson & Pia Reynolds (representing SFLS) Walk Location Details: This is our Christmas Quiz walk – questions are posted along the route and there are prizes on offer to the team with most correct answers. We also encourage a festive feel, bring along festive head wear!! The Molesey walk starts at the Open Space car park at Sadlers Ride off the A3050 at East Molesey Map and aim for the car park by the river - The car park is signposted off the roundabout on the A3050 between Hampton Court and Walton on Thames. Our plan is to meet at 11.00am we can wander around the meadow first to await stragglers and then walk down the river tow path towards the Weir Pub where we will be able to get coffee/refreshments and water for the dogs (they have Briards at the pub). It is an easy walk and about 5 miles long if you do car park to Weir Pub and back – no hills or difficult terrain. If you or your dog are not up to walking from Sadlers Ride to the Weir and back – then park at the Weir and walk down to meet us and then you will have a much shorter route – see myfavouritepubwalks.co.uk Walk Duration: Approximately 3-4 hours (there is a shorter/quicker alternative for pups) Expected Terrain: Varies from muddy/big puddles (bring wellies or very waterproof boots!), to frozen and dry dependent on recent weather. Nearest Toilet Facilities: Toilets at car park at start/finish (need change as coin operated) Pub facilities half way. Refreshment Facilities: The Weir Hotel – Walton on Thames (dog friendly). Expected Hazzards:The walk follows the tow path – so there is a risk your dog may go in the river and get wet, we also pass close to some houses and roads that border the tow path for a short way – here dogs are better on leads so they don’t go in gardens or get onto roads. The pub has plenty of seats outside and staff will provide water bowls. If weather is wet – dogs are allowed in the bar.
