Walk Location Details:

Approach Dover from either A2 or A20 follow signs for A258 (Walmer/Deal) stay on this road until you see a large Esso & Skoda Garage in Walmer. Just before the garage turn immediately right into Granville Road.  Go to the end of the road and turn right into Kingsdown Road.  Parking is available on the left opposite Walmer Castle. There are two car parks quite close together so either can be used. One has toilet facilities. The walk will start from the car parks.

This is a circular walk through Walmer and Kingsdown and takes about 1.5 hours. It is a varied walk with the historical Walmer Castle and then the opportunity for dogs to run off lead on Hawkshill Freedown will views to the English Channel.  Then we enter the village of Kingsdown and walk down to the beach. The dogs can play on the beach but please watch out for fishing hooks. The walk then continues along the foot path next to the sea to the car parks in Walmer. We can extend the walk to Deal Castle if people want to walk for longer.
